How to draw an elephant
Learn how to draw a big elephant of your very own.
You will need:
- Pencil
- Pen
- Eraser
- Paper
- Colored pencils or crayons
- Ruler (suggested)
Jeff's Tips & Ideas : Use lightly sketched pencil lines first for the structure. After, use a pen to draw in the final lines. When you're finished, erase the underlying pencil lines to reveal your drawing. Then - color it!
Let's start! Follow step by step our easy indications below !
STEP 1
Draw a simple framework, composed of basic shapes. Be sure to keep your penciled lines nice and light. Later, you can go over your structure with a dark, permanent pen or marker. The penciled lines will easily erase with a kneaded eraser when you're finished. The centerline down the middle will be helpful in keeping things balanced and symmetrical as you progress.
STEP 2
Add additional features to your framework - the ears, the trunk, etc.
STEP 3
Draw the trunk.
STEP 4
Now add the eyes in behind, along with the mouth.
STEP 5
Keep going with the head...
STEP 6
Now draw the front legs.
STEP 7
Use the structure to help you draw the upper body - connecting the head.
STEP 8
Draw the lower legs.
STEP 9
Big elephant ears!
STEP 10
And here's what the final drawing looks like...
And finally - the colored version! What color is yours?
