What Will the Opening Ceremony Feature?
There are rumors—Celine Dion, Sarah McLachlan—but the actual details of the opening ceremony for the XXI Winter Olympics will be a complete surprise to the 3 million worldwide spectators anticipated on February 12th.
The theme of the ceremony is: “To Inspire the World” and will represent a fusion of ideas and culture.
The only thing that choreographer Jean Grand-Maître will reveal is that it is ninety minutes long and has been like doing “doing 10 Cirque de Soleil shows at the same time”.
All that is certain is that that the ceremony will feature lighting the Olympic flame, as is customary.
