Red Sea
After the tenth plague, Pharaoh agreed to free the Hebrew slaves from Egypt. Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt. When they arrived at the Red Sea, the Pharaoh's army surrounded them. At that, Moses raised his staff and parted the Red Sea, creating two walls of water. The Hebrews passed safely between the walls of water on dry land. However, when the Pharaoh's attempted to follow them, the walls collapsed, engulfing and drowning the Egyptians. It is thus believed that being “passed over”, the Hebrew people became God's chosen people.
