Acorn and Chestnut Animals
What you need:
- Acorns
- Horse-chestnuts
- Toothpicks or wooden skewers
- Scissors or a small knife
How to make these nutty animals:
These fun animals are very easy to make. Gather the necessary materials such as horse-chestnuts and acorns from a walk in the woods. You can use them to create many other animals as hedgehogs and horses shown above.
- Each hedgehog requires a brown nut. Pierce brown skin several times with the tip of a toothpick.
- Then take as many toothpicks as there are holes and breaks them 1 inch below the tip.
- Sinking the pieces in each one of the holes, the tip facing upwards; the hedgehog is now lined with all its quills.
- For the eyes and nose pierce three holes and inserts a small piece of toothpick for the nose leaving the eyes hallow.
- Proceeds in the same way for horses. For each horse, it takes 2 acorns and toothpicks (two small horns, a long neck and 4 legs of equal length).
