10. New York City Easter Parade
In the Americas, an age-old superstition held that donning new clothes for Easter would bring good luck for the rest of the year. Starting in the mid-1800's New York's upper crust would put on their finest for morning services and then parade their threads down 5th Avenue. Following in this tradition and with inspiration from Judy's Garland's movie, Easter Parade, the whacky Fifth Avenue Easter Parade was born.
